Beautifully appointed hotel in an excellent position in the restaurant except for breakfast. Beautiful building and good sized rooms with 2 double beds. Location next to all shared areas, Harvard Square and Cambridge, and the centre of Cambridge. The in-house restaurant for breakfast.

I had a fantastic stay at this place! The location is perfect, right in the heart of everything important in Cambridge. I loved how close it was to Harvard Square, the T station, and the Charles River. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who always went above and beyond. The room was clean and comfortable, with great amenities like free Wi-Fi and a mini-bar. I also appreciated the beautiful garden area and the spa facilities, including the indoor heated swimming pool and jacuzzi. this hotel provided a luxurious and comfortable experience.
Families will definitely enjoy their stay at this hotel, with its spacious rooms and children's menu available at the restaurant.

I had a fantastic time at this hotel. The location was perfect - within walking distance to the university, restaurants, and shops. The staff were helpful and accommodating, providing assistance with luggage storage. The room was excellent, with a TV in the bathroom mirror, adding a touch of luxury. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast and made use of the gym facilities. The view of the Charles river was a bonus, as I was able to take leisurely walks along its banks.
Although the service was generally great, there were occasional instances of inconsiderate and condescending behavior from some staff members.

The location is absolutely perfect. Harvard Square has an amazing famer's market right outside the hotel. The subway stop is across the street and the hotel features some of the top restaurants in Boston.

The rooms were top-notch, with comfortable beds, spacious layout, and stylish decor. The bathroom was exquisite, with a raindrop shower head and plenty of amenities. The hotel's location was perfect, right in the heart of the city, walking distance to restaurants, shops, and attractions.
One downside was having to pay for bottled water in the room, especially considering the hotel's price. Additionally, it would have been nice to have a complimentary tea/coffee station.

Proximity to Harvard Univ. museums, the subway to Boston, Cambridge historic tours, walking in historic Cambridge, and along the Charles River. Shopping and dining-there are many good restaurants in Cambridge. Views from the hotel, its restaurants with their summer dining patios, attractive cocktail lounges, very helpful and accomodating concierges and all other staff, immediate attention to problems with equipment and plumbing in the room, prompt delivery of breakfast. All in all-excellent.
Down quilts in summer, when there should have been light summer bankets at most. Plumbing in toilets in need of supervision.

The Charles Hotel in Harvard Square was worth every penny - great value for money! The room was comfortable and well-appointed. The location was perfect, just a stone's throw away from the Harvard campus. The staff treated us like royalty, especially Frank the concierge who went out of his way to secure a dinner reservation for us. A special mention to the attached restaurant, Henrietta's Table, which served the most delicious breakfast and brunch.
The menu for breakfast could use a little improvement. The fumes from the kitchen permeated the floor and the room, making it a bit unpleasant.

Wi-Fi was very poor. Had an "engineer" come to the room- twice, he also could not make it work. Asked the concierge to arrange for a taxi the night before my early-morning departure- to Logan airport. The taxi was there, but the driver said only a fixed-price rate was available (not the case if I had walked 10 ft away from the hotel). The fixed price was ridiculously high, and the driver attempt to make it even higher- saying tolls were not included - even though his Rate Sheet said they were. The hotel/concierge should screen the taxi companies they use better.

Our daughter was attending a hockey camp at Harvard so the location was perfect. We stayed without a car so it was important to have a variety of amenities close by which there were. We were accommodated a late check out and the concierge was very helpful in storing and retrieving luggage.
There was no self serve coffee in room. The room was clean and comfortable but for the cost I was expecting a little more luxurious surroundings.

We got a good price through Booked.net, but sometimes the rate is a bit expensive. I visit Boston often and this hotel has been my favorite. Will try to stay there again!
